NVIDIA NVENC uses a dedicated video encoding engine on supported NVIDIA GPUs. Choose an explicit NVENC preset to use hardware encoding for a compatible output.
Check Support First
Availability depends on your NVIDIA GPU, installed driver, selected codec and output settings. The app tests the specific H.264, HEVC and AV1 encoders before making their supported presets available.
| Dedicated Preset | Output Codec |
|---|---|
| NVIDIA NVENC - H.264 | H.264 |
| NVIDIA NVENC - HEVC | HEVC (H.265) |
| NVIDIA NVENC - AV1 | AV1 |
Choose a Dedicated NVIDIA Preset
Start a New Queue
Select Add Media → Add video… and add the source files you want to convert. Starting with newly added files avoids carrying over earlier per-file output overrides.
Find NVIDIA NVENC
In Find format or device…, enter NVIDIA NVENC and press Enter.
Select the Supported Encoder
Choose NVIDIA NVENC - H.264, or a supported NVIDIA NVENC - HEVC or NVIDIA NVENC - AV1 preset. These presets select the NVIDIA hardware encoder for you.
Choose the Folder and Convert
Use Save to… to choose a destination folder, then select Convert. A batch processes its videos one after another.
If NVIDIA Presets Are Unavailable
Open Settings → Preferences… → Acceleration and check Use available hardware acceleration and NVIDIA NVENC. The selected encoder must also pass the app’s runtime support test.
Check your GPU and driver support for the codec you want. A regular MP4 preset can use software encoding, especially with manual or advanced output settings. For the clearest starting point, add fresh sources and choose one of the dedicated NVIDIA presets above.
Keep Control of the Output
Encoding time depends on the source, resolution, codec, hardware and output settings. Review the result on a short clip before running a larger queue. Existing per-file custom settings can take precedence over a newly selected preset.
